Environmental Exchange Visit between Palestine and Bavaria

From November 21. until November 23. 2018, the Hanns Seidel Foundation invited to Bavaria a delegation, headed by Chairperson of the Environment Quality Authority H.E. Adalah Atteereh, to discuss joint environmental cooperation and awareness raising in the field of Nature Reserves and environmental protection and education.

From November 21. until November 23. 2018, the Hanns Seidel Foundation invited a delegation, headed by Chairperson of the Environment Quality Authority H.E. Adalah Atteereh, to discuss joint environmental cooperation and awareness raising in the field of Nature Reserves and environmental protection and education.

The delegation spent their time visiting the protected area of the Ammersee, as well as at The National Park center »Haus der Berge« in Berchtesgaden, where they gained knowledge about environmental education and tourism in a Bird Protection area.

In addition to the touring of Nature Reserves, the delegation also held political meetings, such as at the Bavarian State Ministry of the Environment and Consumer Protection, which for the first time hosted a Palestinian official from the Environment Quality Authority. The delegation also held high-level talks with representatives from the Foreign Relations Department of the Bavarian State Chancellery, as well as with Chairwoman of Hanns Seidel Foundation Prof. Ursula Männle; Landrat of Traunstein, Mr. Siegfried Walch; and with the  Schutzgemeinschaft Deutscher Wald, Landesverband Bayern e.V.  At the end of all these meetings, the German officials expressed their desire to support environmental cooperation and exchange of experience, particularly in the field of ​​Nature Reserves.

The delegation visit to Bavaria contributed to a better understating of the subject matters, which will promote future actions for the environment protection in Palestine.
